App for the Student Residence Museum of Madrid

A museum guide app was designed from scratch for tours of the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid and its temporary exhibitions. It had to be self-explanatory and clearly indicate that both the building itself and the temporary exhibitions could be visited. As the sole UX/UI designer, I was responsible for the entire design process, from initial client meetings to the final development documentation.
CHALLENGES
- Understanding how to navigate the space without an interactive map, as it was not within the budget, and understanding that the Residency itself functions as a visitor exhibition.
- Enabling language switching when listening to the explanations of each artwork/visitable space. Although the app automatically configures itself to the phone’s operating system language, the explanatory audio was only going to be recorded in four languages.
